Laing O'Rourke Construction North
Leed Digital Engineer Mr. Andrew Radley will tell us how Laing O’Rourke use BIM in both work winning and post win – pre- construction and construction , and tell about barriers to the BIM implementation, their definition of BIM as a business, and how Laing O’Rourke measure success and failure. He will show us some case study examples of BIM in the real world.
Laing O’Rourke certainly find that they are asking more of the supply chain, architects and engineers, however they are getting results by using collaborative work flows, they are not asking them to change what they do. Laing O’Rourke has implemented offsite manufactured units represent a faster construction program, less staff on site, improved health & safety and much lower operation costs for the client, however use of offsite manufacture requires a much earlier design freeze and it requires early client sign off.
Laing O'Rourke Construction
Laing O’Rourke is an international engineering enterprise, founded on 164 years of experience. Through their fully integrated offer they are delivering a single-source solution for some of the world’s most prestigious organisations.
